To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I have a kihapai in the Ahupua`a of Pohakupili, Island of Molokai, which is named Kaluanui. I occupied this land in 1846, on the 25th day of August. Kaleoku is the haku'aina and Kapule is the konohiki. I have stayed on this land which is taro and kula land of Kaluanui. I desire to enter my before the Commissioners to Quiet Land Titles. The people living on this land are my witnesses, and some other people. This ends my r ....

Aea, sworn, Kapule gave me my land in the `Ili of "Kaluanui," Pohakupili, Molokai in 1846, I do not know the month it was given. I have occupied it from then until now.

Kapule, sworn, I gave him his land in 1846, and his testimony is true.

Decision: He had no claim and must live under the Konohiki, because he obtained it so recently.
