Hear ye, ye Land Commissioners: I hereby state my claim for land at Keokea in Kula, Island of Maui. Kapohaku gave me this place perhaps three years ago. Some of it is completely planted in Irish potatoes and another place which was given is weed-grown.

.... ihamahana sworn: I know of one parcel of Irish potatoes in the Ahupua`a of Keokea in Kula. It was from Kapohaku in 1844; Kapohaku received it from Keohokalole in the time of Kamehameha II. No opposition.
