Greetings to the Land Commissioners of our King: Here is my little thought to you, in accordance with the document telling us to submit our claims: My interest in the land of Kawaiiki is from Kamehameha II. I lived four years on the land and Kalaimoku had us return to Maui with Nahienaena. After this it was transferred to Kaholo, until today, and I was not told the reason for the transfer.
The witnesses of my occupation of the land are M. Kekuanaoa, John Ii, E. Kuhia, and many other eye witnesses.
This land is at Kalihi. Kapena is the one who knows its name. It was Kamehameha II who gave it to me and M. Kekuanaoa was the luna who gave all the empty /land/. He is the proper witness for the land not myself, at this time. There are many witnesses who know of my living on these lands. ....
