Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Wailua, hereby petition for my claim. I have two house lot claims in the land of the konohiki, Kamahiai, District 4, Island of Hawaii.
I hereby state my land claim at Mahuila* in Koloakiu, Waipio, Hamakua, Hawaii: 1 entire mo`o, Mahuila, with 40 lo`i, received from Nohopali, the konohiki of Koloakiu. Kaoanaeha is the Haku `aina. On the east is government land, on the north is the mo`o of Kahil ....

We had given him his interest, the 8-patch section in 1834. In 1839 he received a government land for school teachers and three other patches are in this moo; no one has objected. There are also other smaller parcels here and there and it is impossible to give the boundaries.
Heleihonua, sworn and stated, I have seen his small patches, they are his patches exactly, as Kamahiaikuaaina has related here.
