To the Land Commissioners, greetings: I, Puhene, am a native Hawaiian woman living at Hakaaulana, Island of Oahu. My claim is from the time of Liholiho, from Kaahumanu, and it has been continuous until the present.

.... Kaahumanu as well as from Kinau. She lives under the Chiefs and not under me. I am the konohiki of this land at present but Kahakaaulana and the houses are for this woman, Puhene, This is her claim just as the witnesses have testified.
