To the Land Commissioners at Hale Kauwila, greetings: I, a subject of Hawaii, on the island of Kauai present you my claim, which is at Hanalei. It is 20 fathoms on the east, 20 fathoms on the west, 20 fathoms on the north, 20 fathoms on the south. That is my claim for land which has been held from 1834 to 1848, on the 17th day of January. The witnesses: Kahuakai, Pipiwai, Kimoteo.
