Greetings to you, the Land Commissioners: We the undersigned, because of our understood right, tell of a place fenced by William French at Nuuanu. It is a surrounding stone wall. This is the edge of our lands of Kahapaakai and Luakaha and knowing that we are the ones who have the right at this place, therefore we petition to you. The diagram of the lot is below:

P. Kanoa, sworn by the bible and stated, "I have seen this place, Everything is the same as Paakahi has stated here. I have known that they (two) had received their interest from Kekuku and he had received his right from Kamehameha III. He had received his interest in the year 183 (blank) and Kekuanaoa has lived in peace there. Kaahumanu had given Kekuanaoa and through hearsay I've known that Kanaina's right has been from Kekuku.
