I, Makulu, am th one woho will explain to you, the Land Commissioners:

/After the battle of Nuuanu/ Kahauiki, on Oahu, was a dependency of Uwalo. Uwalo was a canoe-making expert for Kamehameha II, who gave him the land of Kahauiki. When Uwalo died, his kaikamahine, Kalaipaopao, inherited it and on her death, I, her keiki, inherited it.

Later, Kalaimoku took Kahauiki and gave it to my makuakane, Kaleohano, and when he went to Kahiki it went to my kaikaina, ....

.... ;s grandfather had been a canoe carver for Kamehameha I and for this reason he was given this land. This was passed on to his wife at his death. Now this is the son and he has it at this time. This land was acquired during the reign of Poki to the present time. Kaumealani has the land under King Kamehameha III; however, I have not lived there from the year 1839 to this time."

There is no further work to be done because it is a long time since the land was transferred.
