To the Honorable Board of Commissioners &c, Gentlemen,
I lay before You for adjustment the deed of certain lands at Wailuku, Maui; and likewise the contract and Survey, as near as I can learn the work has been completed with the exception of the House, as mentioned in the contract.

The agreement was made by Mr. Samuel Miles to complete the work; and the deed is drawn in his daughter's name and as I have become connected with Mr. Miles' daughter by marriage. I hold myself responsible to complete the remaining part of the contract at any time that You may require it of me. I should prefer paying the money instead of doing the work; as I probably shall be quite busy for some time to come.

.... amberlain of his Majesty of the sum of one hundred and seventy-five dollars, and that upon payment Samuel Miles, and all others holding rights, or subject to any obligations by virtue of relationship to the said Miles, shall be released from all the obligations of a certain contract executed by his Majesty Kamehameha III & Kekauluohi of the one part, and the said Samuel Miles of the other part at Lahaina, Maui, on the 12th day of December A.D. 1840, and that the said award in fee-simple shall take the place of said contract, under which, the said Lydia Anne now holds the land.

I hereby certify that the accompanying is a correct copy of a resolution passed this day in Privy Council with the approval of the King. Witness my hand this 20th day of February 1849.
