The bill of sale of that property to Lanai is another evidence for this property and it is thought to be a true evidence for Lanai."

No. 632, Reynolds, February 14, 1848
Hale M. (Makai - H. Swinton), sworn by the Bible and stated, I have seen this house lot in Honolulu here. It has been acquired by that foreigner named Robert Robinson as contained in the mortgage papers of John Robinson, owner of this property. Robert Robinson was indebted to Pelly. John Robinson had given some money to pay the mortgage, but I had suggested that he ask Reynolds because he has money. Robins then asked me to do this so I did go and talk to Reynolds. Reynolds, said, I do not want to buy Robinson's house lot, because he has a wife and children, however, Reynolds is to give $40.00 as a means of help if he should get the mortgage on the house lot.
John Robinson had consented to the mortgage and I have seen the signing and I had gone together with him to take the money to Pelly and that was the money paid for a previous mortgage.
