To King Kamehameha III, Greetings: I hereby tell you of my bequest to my little kaikamahine, Lupe, of my own land of /1/ Nau at Hanuaula, and my two lands which I inherited from Ulumaheihei;
/2/ Nanue at Hilo, Hawaii
/3/ Keoneula at Honolulu, Oahu.
I am the heir of Ulumaheihei, he did not bequeath to any one else, only me, therefore, my little kaikamahine is below me.
Farewell, your subject is leaving you - it is not for you to die - your subject is the one who is leaving /dying/.
Farewell, to you and all your chiefs in your independent kingdom. ....

Kalunaaina died in the year 1846-7, and bequested in writing his estate to Lupe, his daughter. No one has ever objected to her [his] daughter. No one has ever objected to her at this time and Kaluanaina has no living wife.That land, Nau by name, at Honuaula in Maui and Naune in Hilo, Hawaii, have been from King Kamehameha III before Kaluanaina had acquired Keoneula land. Both Kalunaaina and his daughter have lived peacefully on those lands to the present time, and Lupe has the lands now.
Kahui, sworn, Our testimonies are the same for Keoneula and those two lands, but the boundaries for those lands on Maui and Hawaii are not known; however, they had beenacquired just as it was stated above.
