To Kamehameha III, greetings: I hereby state my claim for land and the years I have occupied it. The Ahupua`a is Makapala, the `ili is Kalihi. Napala had the Ahupua`a and I had this `ili. Fault was found with him, and Kahoinea had the Ahupua`a and I still had this `ili. I have had it for 11 years with no complications,
