Greetings to the Land Commissioners: We hereby testify as to our interest in our land on the island of Kauai.
The first: a house lot at Waimea called Noni, as far as Luhi. The occupancy has been from the time of Kamehameha I until now. It, and the houses on it, is ours. A portion is fenced. No one has objected.
The second: a house lot at Waimea at Kahiuaia. We have had it from Kamehameha II to Kahalaia, until Kaikioewa, who took a portion, leaving one fourth for us until now. Our people now live there and care for it. No one has objected until now.

Here is my claim for Puuwahie, an `ili in Waimea on Kauai, which was given me from the time of Kaumualii and has been held from thence until now in peace.
As I understand the law concerning the claimants of land, I therefore enter my claim, from my makuas for you to administer. When the day comes to work on it and you direct me to come, I will go, with the proper witnesses.
