The Secretary of Land Commission.
Sir, I herewith enclose you a plan of Premises belongong to me situated in Hilo, Hawaii. Said land came into my possession by purchase from Hainau, a native, in January 1846 & I pray your Honorable Board to grant me a patent for the same.

.... Haumu is a Hawaiian now residing at Waiakea and who is a sale partner of Capt. Hoyer.
2. Haumu has lived at Piihonua that is the place which has been sold to Capt. Hoyer, since the time of Kamehameha I, a long time ago.
3. The konohiki for the land at that time, Kahaipule, had presented Haumu land on which to live was the reason Haumu has lived there.

The above named persons Ulu, Kahaku being duly sworn by me do depose and say that the parts above stated by them are true to the best of their knowledge and belief.
