To the Hon. William Rlchards and the other four commissioners whom the Mo`i appointed to quiet titles - Greetings: As in the law, in inheriting my wahine's reaI estate at the time of our marriage, it is for me to request and administer same, therefore, I testify to you concerning the interest in my wahine's house lot, which is on the east side of Mr. Hat's house lot, just makai of the road which goes along the lot of George Pelly, on the north side, also, of the road which goes along the government printing house. The in-terest is for me in the name of my wahine and we live at this place. Keoki Puki (George Bush), sworn by the Word of God and stated, I have seen this land near the merging street of George Pelly's lot; Pilipi's lot on the Ewa side; Hotel Street mauka; Kea Street Waikiki and Kaanaana's lot is on the makai end.
There was no house there in the year 1825; it was covered with graves, and in the year 1831, the place was acquired by Kaaua. Kaaua's first husband had gone to the foreign land, but she had built some houses and had lived there always with her assistant, Kamokunui, who is also her substitute while she had
been living on Hawaii.
