Hear ye, the Land Commissioners chosen to rectify all the problems of the people of the independent king of Hawaii:
I have heard that Levi has petitioned you, therefore I tell you that I am the heir to the lot adjoining the lot of Pauma haole. Levi's bequest is not there - he has two lands bequeathed to him at Ilikahi in Lahaina and Kapehu in Hilo. The inheritance of this lot is mine and my wahine's. .... . My feeling is this bequest is true. This interest had been for Kaaoaohema and upon his death it was willed to Kawaluna. That is what I have known.
Waialae, sworn by the Word of God and stated, What I have seen and heard about the bequest are similar to Malaehaakoa's statements given here, that the land in Lahaina and that which is in Hilo were for Levi indeed just as Kawaluna had directed; and the house lot in Honolulu here was for Paukuwahie. That is what I have heard.
