Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have a claim in an `ili in the Ahupua`a of Mapulehu on the Island of Molokai. Its name is Kukuiokapuu. The name of the `ili on the mauka side is Ohaipilo, held by Kau, and the name of the `ili on the makai side is Kahau, held by Kalaeone.
I have been on this claim for three years. It was given to me by Kamakani, the konohiki of A. Kanae. I have occupied and farmed this land from that time until today, and have done po`alima work until this very day. The length of this land to which I claim a right, is 87 fathoms, and the width is 40 fathoms. I hereby petition you, if this is a true and correct claim, that ....
