N.R. 241-242v7
I, the one whose name is below, hereby state my claim for land, an `ili in the Ahupua`a of Kaluaaha on the Island of Molokai. I have 6 pauku of land, and the name of this `ili is Puueainui. However, this `ili does not lie straight, but it jumps in various places from the seashore up to the mountain. The length of one pauku is 53 fathoms by a width of 22 fathoms.
The second pauku is 38 fathoms long by 29 fathoms wide.
The third pauku is 51 fathoms long by 30 fathoms wide.
The fourth pauku is 69 fathoms long by 30 fathoms wide.
The fifth pauku is 38 fathoms long by 14 fathoms wide.
The sixth pauku is a parcel of mountain land which has not been measured because it is so large, but, however, I have told you the number of my claims.
The one from whom I received my land was Awili, who was a kupunawahine of Poki, and from her to Kalolou. I have occupied this `ili for 20 years. The witnesses who know of my acquisition of this `ili are Kokae, who is alive, and some other witnesses are all dead.
