A letter telling of the right of the konohiki to that kula at Halaula II. It was acquired as follows, by the old law, on page 25, section 1. Kaauwai is the witness for this place - he asked for that place for himself, and the taro patches, and I agreed he could have the taro patches.

.... or that place which Napela had petitioned for himself. Kaimu wrote me about that place, to live under me. I did not consent - I directed the konohiki, and afterwards we met personally at Lahaina and he demanded that place for himself. Here is his letter to me. I did not convey that place to be his absolutely.
