Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I have a claim in the Ahupua`a of Kalaupapa, Island of Molokai. It is an `ili named Kokipohaku, situated as follows: Just mauka is the church of Kalaupapa, from thence it lies as far as the pali of Keolewa. The boundary on one side is also Kikipohaku and on another side is Niuiki. Its "jump" is also Kokipohaku. It is on the kula and is situated with another Kokipohaku. Hauola is on two sides, Ahuli is mauka.
This `ili was received when Kaneikapuahakea was the konohiki in Kalaupapa. My makuakane, Keaweiki, had Kokipohalu, Kaneikapuahakea was dispossessed and Kanaina was appointed, and Keaweiki still had the land. Kanaina was dispossessed and Heeia was appointed ....
