To the Honorable Land Commissioners, Hawaiian Islands: I, Koekoe, am a claimant of land in the Ahupua'a of Hauula. I have four lo'i in the mo'o of Kuoni. The boundaries are: Kamoliili on the north, pali on the south and east, the land of Keoho on the west. That is my claim for land, which was from the konohiki.

.... 9. Some of the men who worked for Koekoe were Keoioi, on the side next the stream, Kahanumaikai, Kaailaau, and the balance by Koekoe himself in 1848. This kula land was formerly held by Koekoe's father who died in 1841.

C.G. Hopkins, the King's Land Agent, objected to the claim for Kula land, 1st because it is entirely without signs of cultivation. 2nd because it is not enclosed. 3rd because they were addressed by Alapai, the sub-agent, not to take in that land to the prejudice of the Konohiki.
