To the Land Commissioners, greetings: I, Kahawaii am a claimant in the `ili of Kalokohou. there are 12 lo`i, a kula and my house lot. These are all in my mo`o. I have occupied this claim since the time of Kamehameha III.

From the beginning to the time I had left this place I had never heard Haole ask Kahawaii for this patch, but I did see Haole, the konohiki, work with the tenants of the land in that patch.

Kuimehena, sworn, I have seen this patch. it is an old poalima patch since the time of Kamehameha I and just before the death of Kaahumanu I, Poohiui gave this patch to Kumaio. It was he who planted wauke only and after this we were released and Kelliiwaiwaiole moved in as overseer. I did not hear Haole ask Kahawaii for this patch, nor did I hear any one ask Haole to cultivate the patch with the rest of the tenants of the land.
