I, Kaanaana, hereby give you my claim in the lot, which Kaaione occupies. The basis of my claim in this lot is that when Kalaimoku sailed from Hawaii, Kamehameha commanded him "You sail, and stop off at Lahaina /to get him/ to make a Fort for /O/ahu." Kalaimoku assented, and when he got to Lahaina he spoke to Miller, my makuakane, to sail to Oahu ....

.... I was unable to go because of paralysis, therefore I give it for you to work on for our benefit concerning this matter - that is my message to you. The witnesses for the lot at the descent of Peleula and Likeke /Richards/ and D. Kiwalao Waianae Paku, also Boyd.
Furthermore, my makuahine is in that lot, and my and my kaikuaana. I dug the well, which is there.
