To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby state my claim for house lot at Kamakela in Honolulu, on the north side of the stream which flows to the place, where the ships anchor. It is bounded on the north by Mahie's lot, on the east by the lot of Kalua, on the south by the lot of Keaweluahi, on the west by a road.
My right is from the time of Kamehameha I, my makuakane occupied it at that time, and when he died he bequeathed this place to me. The lot has been enclosed by a fence by myself, and one house stands within the lot which is mine. There has been no opposition, until this time. There are also two lo`i at Kalawahine in Honolulu, the ....

.... hiki. Haupu has held these patches since the death of his father. I cannot say precisely how long. I know that about the year 1850, Haupu divided the food with Kekauonohi.
I heard Kekauonohi forbid Kaniku & the father of Haupu to put in any claim for these two patches, as she considered them her property.

Haupu related to the land officers - I have relinquished my claim in Kalawahine, Honolulu of 2 lois and I am restoring said lois to Haalelea forever. I shall receive $60.00 for those lois.
