Be it known to the Land Commissioners concerning the Konohiki's rights within the Ahupua`a. It is as follows: all the ko`eles from the former Konohiki until the present those are the rights of the Konohiki. Look you from seaward of Hanalei to inland at Kahehuahale; however the Government's ko`ele are separate they are not combined /with the Konohikis/.
With respect to you, the Commission to quiet Land Titles at Hale Kauwila, Honolulu.

Namauu, sworn, he has known Kahue, who had been Konohiki of Hanalei at one time. In 1847, he had become destitute so in 1849, Namauu gave him four patches and a pasture. Today, Namauu is saying that land is for Kahue.
