To the Land Commissioners, Greetings: I hereby state my claims, which were given by the Konohikis, in the 'Ili of the Ahupua'a of Waikane, District 6, Division 2, Island of Oahu. It is an independent 'Ili, the people are under me. From the time of Kamehameha I, to Kuhuluku, and from Alapai and from Nakoana, and from Kailinaoa, and from Opunui to Koali, and to me. /The ones/ above were dispossessed, /the one/ below stayed. It is a true right from ancient times, until this day on which it is written.
