Gentlemen: Hereby I enclose you my claim to the land which I now hold, and which I have lived upon for the last 12 years past. It was given me by his Majesty Kamehameha I in Honolulu in the month of March in the year 1834. It is called Mauliilii, situated in the district of Hilo on the Island of Hawaii:
