Greetings to the Land Commissioners: I, Haole, on the Island of Molokai, in the Ahlupua`a of Pohakupili, have an `ili in this Ahupua`a, named Maniania. It is 8 chians long and 6 fathoms, and is only 4 fathoms wide. The adjoining land on the mauka side is Palailaiha, on one side is a ridge, and Puaoina is an `ili on the makai side, and a stream is on the other side. This `ili lies very narrow and crooked.

This land has a kula far makai which goes far into the sea, and the sea is one boundary of it, also an `ili, Moakea is on one side and Kaluanui is on another side of this land.

Its length is 15 chains by 9 chains in width - it is rectangular, and there is also a mountain area.

The ali`is from the time this land became my kupunas', until it became mine, have been Hueu, Hoapili, and Kamehameha III. Those are the ali`is. The konohikis have been Mamaki, Ieremia, Paai, Ali Ahole, Kaleoku Kapule, and Kahalemake at this time. The witnesses of my land are Kanaloa, Kunounou, Kapule, Naki, and the people living in this Ahupua`a and so ....
