To the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, Greetings: Kekoalii has chosen me to work on his land claims with you.

1. A house lot is a Puehuehu nui in Lahaina; it is just makai of the Government Road, on the south, also, of the lot of Keahilele. Their parents had peaceful possession of this place in the time of Kamehameha I, and there are some kou trees there which they planted.

When the land was transferred to Kalimaeha, he gave this place to continue in the possession of Kekoalii ma, who built some houses there and lived there undisturbed. Just in this last year of 1846 Kupa Eleele asked to make a lime kiln there. Kekoalii consented for Kupa to burn his lime there, because of his difficulties at that time, then his work would end there.

Afterwards, Kupa petitioned Kamakini to see that place to him, and Kamakini took that place from them without explaining their fault.
