To the Land Commissioners of the Hawaiian Islands, Greetings to you all: I hereby state my claim for land, in the land called Kuaiwa, Island of Maui. There is a mo`o there with 11 lo`i.

It is bounded on the north by Haliipalala, on the east by Paleileiha on the south by Nohowana, on the west by a stream.

I also have a kula there, adjoining on the west side of my mo`o,
That is where I live. I have had this land for a very long time. I received it from Hoohei, and have occupied it continuously since then until this time, in peace with no opposition from any one.
