Hear ye, Honorable John Ii: your servant requests your sympathetic attention to these words. Tear up the three previous letters - one from my moopuna, and the last two from me. Those letters were all wrong - perhaps it would be best to burn them. This is the absolutely last letter and the correct one, for your consideration and care.

.... e King, and it was I who taught some of the chiefs and some of the people, from Oahu to Hawaii. I have taught here on Hawaii for 20 years. That is my claim to this land and the house lot at Waikupua, from the year of our Lord 1820.

If you are thinking of dividing the land, with the Land Commissioners, then do it with the kindness which gladdens the hearts of my beloved race of people.
