To the Land Commissioneres, Greetings: I hereby tell you the size of my houselot at Waimea:
North side, 120 fathoms
East side, 120 fathoms
South side, 98 fathoms
West side, 105 fathoms
However, in my mind I am not confident that these measurements are correct, as it was measured by the Hawaiian method [distance between tips of longest fingers of a man, measured with arms extended to each side]. It was surveyed by the tall Haole Surveyor who came here and went away. Perhaps you have been told, perhaps not. If you have been told, he is the absolutely correct one, since he is the Haole who is excellent at measuring land and lots. I do not think my measuring is ....

He /Hueu/ had this a long time ago from his father, Aikake, who had received Koapapaa here from Kamehameha I; no one had objected.

Goat corral in ili land of Poulama: the boundaries are all for Uilama Pekele.

Hueu's interest is from Uilama; no one has objected.
William Backle, sworn and stated, I have seen for I had given the interest to him. I had given him these sections in 1845-1846.
