Kamehameha III., By the grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this His Royal Patent, makes known unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Johnson Wilkinson, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of one hundred and two dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land, situated at Lepeuli Koolau, in the Island of Kauai, and described as follows:
Commencing at a stake standing upon the westerly boundary of land belonging to J. Black and upon the northeasterly corner of this land; and running
North 58° West 12 chains bounded by land belonging to said Black to the southerly boundary of the land called Waipake belonging to Naiole. Thence
South 64° West 4 chains bounded by said land. Thence
South 66° West 22.60 chains bounded by said land called Waipake to a Hala tree which stands upon the South easterly ....
