Keahimaia, kane, sworn, I was born on Maui at the time of the waanui came to Hamakua at the time of the battle of Kekuaekulani, and have lived here ever since; have lived on Kawela and Kilae; the boundaries were told to me by old folks; the father of Kealia, kane, the last witness was one who told me. The mauka corner of Kuilei and Kawela is at Keawemanu, a hill on the Hilo side of the gulch just on the lower edge of the woods; there are a few scattering trees growing there. Au 1st bounds it on the Hilo side; thence the boundary runs makai along an iwi aina between Au 1st and Kuileinui to Puulaula; thence the boundary between Kuileinui and Kuileiiki runs makai to the Government road and from there to shore; thence to a rock below the pali, which is a fishing place for the natives. In ancient times there was no fishing right extending out to sea belonging to this land.
Cross-examined.

Testimony closed.

Decision
Boundaries decided to be as given in certificate of Boundaries of Kawela and in evidence of witnesses.

Survey ordered, and notes of survey to be filed previous to Certificate of Boundaries being issued.
