Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Richard Armstrong, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of services rendered for six months and One Dollar, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Upper Haiku, Hamakualoa in the Island of Maui and described as follows:

Beginning at the corner post between Kaupakulua Komohana and Haiku on the one side and Kaupakulua Hikina on the other and running
South 73° 30' West 57 Chains to a post on the Western side of the ravine Auwaiokane, thence
South 46° East 9.89 Chains along West bank of the ravine called Hauo
South 22° 15' East 2.72 Chains along West bank of the ravine called Hauo
South 51° 15' East 12 Chains to a post in Hauo ravine. Note. from this post to the ravine called Auwaiokane, the boundary lines lies along the bottom of the ravine called Hauo. thence,
South 31° 30' West 69 Chains to ravine which seperates Haiku from Makawao, to a point
South 64° East 12 Chains from Alelele, thence
