No. 18, George Wood, Claimant, Honolulu, April 10, 1846
F.R. 38v1
[Margin note: presented for file 10 o'clock A.M. 10th April]
Gentlemen: With this, you have a plan of my premises which I obtained from Kraimoku and Governor Boki, soon after Governor Boki arrived from England, together with the premises which I have sold to Stephen Reynolds, which he now occupies. This I received by word of mouth, for at that time writings were not common in such cases.
I have no knowledge of any person now living that can give any testimony. Governor Boki laid out the ground himself. I request Gentlemen, that you will consider my claims, and award me a right of patent.
To the Honorable Commissioners for quieting land titles.
Signed, Geor ....

.... en enclosed by fence since to this time.
Namauu sworn by the Word of God and he related:
I have heard that Poki gave G. Wood the place he lives on now. It has been fenced since and no one has objected to his living there.
Kinimaka sworn and he related:
I have heard it was Poki who gave G. Wood the place on which he lives now.
Question: When?
Kinimaka: Many years sometime ago.
Question: What is the reason for Poki's award to G. Wood?
Kinimaka: G. Wood came to talk about it to Poki at Pualinui's place and Poki gave that property. It has been set apart since that time, and I have not heard anyone complain about his residence there.
