Addressed to Board of Commissioners for quieting land titles.
Messers: In accordance with the land I herewith submit my claim to your examination & final adjustment. It is the Bake house lot in Honolulu, makai & opposite of the Captain Lylle'[s] Place, the present residence of William Hooper.
This place was obtained from Kinopu with the consent of Governor Adams (Kuakini) by Chin, about 20 years ago. I have been an equal partner with Chin in this place for 13 years, I am now sole owner, become so about 6 months ago by exchanging a schooner with him for his part. Chin's place of residence is at Hilo, Hawaii; he is a watch maker & carpenter. I have been a resident at these Islands for more than 13 years and married & I have a family of children, & expect to remain here for the rest of my days. My place has been properly measured by the Government survey ....

Ai Pake, sworn by the Word of God and stated, "I have seen the document of Amau and Aiena for I had written the statement. Aiena had written his signature in this document and the statement of sale contracted by them is there."

M. Kekuanaoa, sworn by the Word of God and stated "When I had returned from
Pelekane (Britain) that place was for Kinopu and me and it was an idle lot where later Amau had lived under us without paying rent to me and that was our own place. "
