Kamehameha III, By the Grace of God, King of the Hawaiian Islands, by this Royal Patent, makes known, unto all men, that he has for himself and his successors in office, this day granted and given, absolutely, in Fee Simple unto Charles Kanaina, his faithful and loyally disposed subject for the consideration of Forty Dollars, paid into the Royal Exchequer, all that certain piece of Land situated at Kawananakoa, Nuuanu, in the Island of Oahu, and described as follows:

Commencing at mauka East corner of this lot, joining on J. Kaeo's lot mauka, and running South 38° 30' West 6 Chains 27 8/12 feet along lot owned by Hawaii, to new road, the South cor ....
